In the Victoria and Albert Museum at South Kensington, London, at the Textiles and Embroideries Department (on the mezzanine), three embroideries from Nisyros are exhibited. The photos are taken by Maria K. Chartofyli by the courtesy and the assistance of the Museum’s Management, whom we thank once again. Two of the donors, Professors R.M. Dawkins and A.J.B. Wace, who had visited Nisyros, had a strong friendship with our compatriot doctor and folklorist late G. Kazavis.
The third embroidery is from Emborios of Nisyros and was bought by the pair of English archaeologist Theodore and his wife Mabel Bent during their visit to Nisyros in 1885.
