EDITOR'S NOTE
Athena Tarsouli, writer, folklorist, and painter, in 1948, immediately after the incorporation of the Dodecanese into Greece, visited all the islands of the Dodecanese, studied their history, their culture, their customs and traditions, lived the daily life of the inhabitants and wrote a three-volume book entitled DODECANISE.
The excerpt of the work mentioned in Nisyros, we quote here, so that it becomes the property of everyone interested. The poor quality of some pages is due to the fact that the scan was made from a photocopy, and photocopying pages from a book has these problems.
